Prices are based on a minimum number of 10 delegates. In the unlikely event the minimum is not met by January 23, 2018, the program will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.

Please note that this specialized program is being developed in conjunction with your professional counterpart organization. The time, order, location, and content of the professional meetings are subject to availability of and confirmation by the hosts, as well as the relevant background and expertise of the traveling participants. Participation is strongly encouraged for all scheduled meetings as a general professional courtesy to your professional hosts. 

**A limited number of single rooms are available at extra cost on a first-come, first-served basis, but availability cannot be guaranteed. Academic Travel Abroad will assist persons requesting a roommate. However, neither a single room nor a share can be guaranteed. Participants will be contacted to confirm/deny space in a single occupancy room while making note of the request for a roommate. If we are successful in finding a suitable roommate, the enrollee will be refunded the single supplement. If we are unsuccessful in finding a suitable roommate, the enrollee will remain enrolled with the single occupancy package.

Day 1 — Monday, April 23, 2018 | Ho Chi Minh City

On arrival at Ho Chi Minh City airport you will be met by your National guide who will transfer you to the hotel. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. This evening, gather for an informational briefing and introduction, followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (Dinner)

Day 2 — Tuesday, April 24, 2018 | Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast this morning, depart for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. Meet with faculty and students of a local dental school to discuss the dental education structure in Vietnam. After lunch as a group, visit a community based dental office. Discuss how services are delivered to special needs patients. This evening, enjoy dinner as a group at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3 — Wednesday, April 25, 2018 | Mekong Delta

This morning, depart the hotel for the Mekong Delta. After crossing the Mekong River by ferry, continue through one of the largest coconut orchards in Vietnam. After lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy Vietnamese honey tea while cruising the small canals of the Mekong Delta. Enjoy a walk thru fruit orchards and a short horse cart ride before returning to the hotel. Dinner this evening will be on your own. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4 — Thursday, April 26, 2018 | Siem Reap

After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check in. This afternoon, visit a local dental facility to discuss alternative dental care options. Enjoy dinner as a group at a local restaurant. Later, explore Siem Reap’s vibrant night market. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5 — Friday, April 27, 2018 | Angkor Wat

Wake up in the early morning to set out to Angkor Wat, one of the world’s most impressive ruins, for the sunrise. Return hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, set out to visit the four-square mile royal city Angkor Thom with the temple of Bayon, located at the city’s geographic center. Enjoy lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, return for a guided tour of Angkor Wat. The temple is adorned with thousands of fine carvings of asparas and scenes from Hindu mythology. Strolling around the massive hallways, you will find many small shrines still in use by the local people at this ancient site. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 6 — Saturday, April 28, 2018 | Phnom Penh

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Enjoy time at leisure before gathering as a group for dinner. This afternoon, explore the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda before enjoying dinner as a group at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 7 — Sunday, April 29, 2018 | Phnom Penh

This morning, visit the International University to meet with high level faculty and discuss the curriculum for dental specialties in Cambodia. Visit a hospital and private dental clinic, if time allows, to discuss dental service financing. After lunch as a group, finish the discussion about dental health and education with representatives from the Cambodian Ministries of Health and Education. Before independent dinner, gather to reflect as a group. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 8 — Monday, April 30, 2018 | Phnom Penh

This morning, gain insight into Cambodia’s recent dark history on a visit to the remarkable Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, housed in the former school that was taken over by the Khmer Rouge and used as its main detention and torture center named ‘S-21’. Also visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek - a moving, but important visit that will allow you to dig below the surface and understand Cambodia. Enjoy a traditional dance show followed by a farewell dinner as a group. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9 — Tuesday, May 1, 2018 | Return Home

This morning, depart the hotel for the Phnom Penh Airport for your individual flights home. (Breakfast)

Day 2 — Tuesday, April 24, 2018 | Ho Chi Minh City

This morning, venture out sightseeing with your local guide for Ho Chi Minh City’s ‘essential sights’. Visit the Reunification Palace, which was stormed on April 30, 1975, by the first Communist tanks. It was off this building that a soldier famously unfurled a VC flag from the palace. Travel to the Fine Arts Museum for a tour and wrap up the afternoon with a visit to Ben Thanh Market. Originally established in the 17th century, the market is known as one of the best markets in Asia for contemporary clothing, accessories, souvenirs, and delicious food. Return to the hotel to enjoy dinner as a group at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, depart on a delightful tour around Phnom Penh in a Cyclo while soaking in the marvelous sights of the city. Explore Wat Phnom temple, located on a small hilltop which marks where the city was founded. Continue on to the National Museum, home to the world’s foremost collection of ancient Khmer artistic, archaeological and religious artifacts dating as far back as to the 4th century. Spend the afternoon at your leisure winding through to local markets or along the Riverfront. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 8 — Monday, April 30, 2018 | Phnom Penh
